Alterations

Alterations is a collection of three individual classes and the option of a private fitting session:

  • Alterations – Mend & Embellish

You can take all three or pick and choose the specific classes/skills you are interested in. See below for more info on each class.

Private fitting session

$40/hr (1 hr minimum)

Contact me to set up a date & time.

Let’s face it, fitting yourself is hard! Schedule a time with me and we can conquer it together. I will be your “lovely assistant” in pinning hem lengths, side seams, waistbands, dart additions, etc.

Please bring any item of clothing you wish to be fitted. I will supply the rest.

Alterations – Mend & Embellish

  • $50 for 2 hour class

  • Dates – Apr 7, May 6, Jun 14, Jul 26

  • Time – 5:30 - 7:30pm

This class will cover visible and invisible mending techniques as well as patches, button replacement and fixing ripped seams. We will also explore adding ruffles, lace, ribbon, embroidery and shirring to garments.

Please bring any garment that needs repair and/or embellishment.

Pre-req: Sewing 101 or equivalent (must know how to thread and operate a sewing machine).

Alterations – Fitting

  • $50 for 2 hour class

  • Dates – Apr 14, May 13, Jun 21, Aug 16

  • Time – 5:30 - 7:30pm

This class will go over the techniques of fitting a garment including side seams, waistbands and adding darts.

Please bring garments that need fitting alterations pre-pinned or marked. If you need assistance fitting, consider booking a private fitting session with me, prior to class (see above).

Pre-req: Sewing 101 or equivalent (must know how to thread and operate a sewing machine).

Alterations – Hems

  • $50 for 2 hour class

  • Dates – Apr 28, May 20, Jul 12, Aug 23

  • Time – 5:30 - 7:30pm

This class will go over all the different techniques for hemming garments by machine and hand sewing. We will also cover the technique for hemming denim while keeping the original hem.

Please bring garments that need hems pre-pinned or marked. If you need assistance fitting, consider booking a private session with me, prior to class (see above).

Pre-req: Sewing 101 or equivalent (must know how to thread and operate a sewing machine).
